Elsa Newman's kids are not alone...

Sometimes, because I write so much about Elsa Newman, and because I get so little response, I wonder if anybody is believing me. So today I am posting another site which tells of similar cases. WARNING: this is not pleasant reading!  http://www.protectiveparents.com/cases.html   These are from the state of California and reading them, I wonder if California is filled with court officials who find some kind of perverse pleasure in placing chldren with custodial parents who will abuse them sexually.

This is about as awful as it gets...once you multiply these stories by thousands~

A WORD FROM THE OLD GUY--DEAF AND BLIND

This is Augie, our blind and deaf rescue. This is what Augie does when he is “looking” for something.

Our Augie may be blind, but even he can see that there is something wrong in the state of Maryland when a wommon of the quality of Elsa Newman is in prison for a non-existent crime. Augie may be deaf, but even he can hear the wails of the angels who observe the pain of Elsa and her sons.

And as for smell? He’s good at that. Remember Shakespeare’s Hamlet and “There’s something rotten in the state of Denmark”? Well…only this morning I overheard Augie talking to Adelle, remarking, “You know ‘Dell…I fink inna ole heart an’ soul ‘at ‘ere sumpin’ rotten inna ole state of Marylan’ inna ole US of A.”With Augie, you see, in order to get quotations, I must eavesdrop, since the boy talks to no one but Adelle. I believe I’ve mentioned before that she is his world. Thus she is the only one with whom he communicates.

Even if I have to gain the information by listening in on other people’s conversations, I’m glad to know we have another pug stepping out in support of Elsa and her children.

Now wait just a dog-bone minute here!

OK...this one I don't understand at all.

Elsa Newman is in prison. As I heard the story, a lot of the prosecution case was based on the testimony of Elsa's estranged husband, who said in his 9-1-1 call that Elsa had sent someone to try to kill him.

Huh? Even if that were true--and it isn't--there is no way on God's good earth that the man could have known it!

So why did Katherine Winfree use evidence that clearly made a lie of itself?

And even more important, how on earth could she have been successful with it?

But Elsa Newman is the one in prison.

THE HANDS OF A PEDOPHILE

Please notice that this essay has been deleted. The main focus of the essay was a picture of the hands. Now the photo of the man, with his hands raised, has been deleted from that oh-so-popular website where he had an address of his own. I wonder if he was nervous, lest someone might read my essay and accidentally stumble upon his photo and recognize him.

Hmmmmmm.

Interesting thought.

A brief background of the Elsa Newman case

Elsa has friends and supporters she has probably never thought of before...and many she may never see. Here are three members of the Brocken Support Group. From top to bottom: Pepper, also called "Bouncing Rabbit" because she sometimes hops about in a manner more appropriate to the rabbit species than the pug species. Willie, who tends to howl when I mention Elsa or prison--because he can't stand the shock of being shutting in a crate, and has a great deal of empathy for our friend Elsa, whom he seems to perceive as being in a crate somewhere [although I guess "crate" is as good a name as any for a prison. And at least it is a metaphor that Willie and the other pugs can relate to with great compassion. ] And the third boy is Tyler, my pug son, reminding us all that pugs may empathize and support and care deeply--but when it's time to eat? Whoooo, boy! You better get out of the way.

Elsa Newman is a graduate of Goucher College, where she completed her work with highest honors and went on to attend the University of Maryland School of Law. She has an impressive curriculum vitae, including a listing in Who’s Who in American Law. Elsa’s present problems began when she allegedly concocted allegations of sexual abuse on the part of her children’s father.  This was followed by another allegation, that she had  allegedly tried to murder this man, her ex-husband and father of her children.

As I understand it, these were two open, joyous, brilliant, good children with the confidence of kittens. These children went to their mother, Elsa, to confide about their father’s abuse and reveal some of the conditions involved for them.  They had no thought that this would hurt them…or that their mother would be horribly punished because she spoke out for them and tried to obtain help. Although Elsa obtained successive protective orders, the children were required by the courts of Maryland to visit this abusive father during her divorce from him.

Matters worsened considerably when a family friend named Margery Landry broke into the father’s home. She was charged and found guilty of assault and is serving a 20 year sentence for said assault. Repeatedly she has both written and testified that Elsa knew nothing of her plans for the break in. Repeatedly Margery has refused the prosecutor’s offer of a sentence reduction if she would testify against Elsa. Repeatedly she has refused to lie in order to save herself time in prison. She insists that Elsa didn’t know of her plans and that Elsa had, in fact, warned her to stay away from the alleged child moster.

Elsa was at her niece’s wedding when this happened. And it was not a pretty scene. Landry found the ex in bed nude with his younger child. She pulled them apart. He beat her and bit off her finger. The gun she brought to protect herself discharged into his leg at such close range, the bullet went through his leg. Strangely, there were no bullet holes in his pajamas, although he was wearing them and they were bloodied by the time police responded to the 911 call. That would seem to indicate, would it not, that he was not wearing them at the time of the scuffle in which the gun discharged. [Hmmmmm. An accused pedophile…naked in bed with one of his children, also naked… I imagine you can draw an appropriate conclusion for yourself].

And things then proceeded to get worse. More than a year before the events I just wrote about, Elsa had, confided in her divorce lawyer’s secretary, saying that she [Elsa] wished the man were dead. It was primarily on this basis of this secretary’s testimony that Elsa was ultimately charged, tried and convicted of: 1) conspiracy for attempted murder, (2) attempted murder and (3) other charges, although I am not aware of the nature of these other charges. I am still researching and trying to learn more about the case.

After Elsa’s first trial, her conviction was vacated because Maryland’s highest court found no evidence connecting her to any criminal activity. Despite the absence of evidence—no DNA, no emails, no letters, no calls, no manuals, no nothing, no circumstantial evidence in any the file cabinets, boxes of documents or computer, the prosecutors, Doug Gansler, State’s Attorney who was running for Attorney General of the State of Maryland, and Katherine Winfree, his deputy, continued to pursue and essentially harrass Elsa.

Gansler was quoted by the press after the conviction was vacated as claiming Elsa wanted to kill her kids. [To this one, I can give absolutely no credence. I’ve heard Elsa speak of her kids. I’ve read what she writes about them. Her love and concern for these two abused boys absolutely radiates from every word in a letter—and from her voice when she speaks of them.] This claim—about her alleged wanting to kill them--like the rest of the information and misinformation used against her, came out of thin air.] After her release, the prosecutors determined to retry her and added a death penalty, apparently to punish her for winning an appeal. There was no evidence, nothing new. Elsa’s former husband was the chief prosecution witness. As I understand it, the man is charismatic the extreme. People seem instinctively to like him and trust him. He connected Elsa to Margery Landry by spinning a tale of “twisted sisters”—the one, Margery Landry allegedly bending to Elsa’s every whim; thus they were able  to allege a link. Elsa’s divorce attorney’s secretary was called again to the witness stand, and again distorted Elsa’s wish expressed over a year earlier in confidentiality.

Now let’s take  a look at other people who had input into this second trial. [What ever happened to double jeopardy, anyhow? I don’t understand this.] Every single expert, and the best professionals who were involved, opined over and over that the children were indeed molested and that their mother was not coaching them to say it. These same experts insisted that the  father is a pedophile, who needed to be investigated thoroughly and supervised.[1] Painfully vivid documentation was provided by these experts, who documented behavioral and physical manifestations of child sexual abuse: bruises, bloodied rings around the anus and symmetrical lesions, severe sexually transmitted rashes on penis and buttocks, bite marks, all of which had been reported by teachers, court personnel and doctors,  not to mention three years of disclosures by the children. Dr. Newberger, in 2006, wrote an extensive report establishing that the children suffered severe sadistic abuse both throughout the term of Elsa’s prosecution and before her prosecution. Dr. Newberger also stated emphatically that in his opinion, that the father of the two boys can clearly be expected to continue to abuse these children. Further, Dr. Newberger called Maryland’s investigation well below the national standard.

It would seem that Elsa’s prosecutors were responsible for this below-standard child-abuse investigation. At the trials, they touted their closed investigations as proof that Elsa supposedly had accused her ex-husband of sexually abusing their children in a deliberate attempt to “get him.” Because the so-called investigation was a closed investigation, they apparently decided that this had somehow prompted Elsa to further action on her own—and they thus decided she was involved in an attempt to  murder her ex-husband, the father of her children. The jury deliberated for over 2 days, and it was, unfortunately, Elsa’s lawyer who asked to press them to a verdict. They convicted just before a long holiday weekend.

Elsa was convicted long before either trial, however.

[ NOTE: I can document this previous statement. I recently read and printed from the internet an article entitled “Deadly Triangle,” by Harry Jaffe and Cindy Rich. If I understand correctly what these two journalists wrote, then I believe Elsa was convicted by and in both local and national media before she ever reached trial.]

Convicted before her trial! All along her prosecutors fed the media distorted facts to make her look guilty. Elsa was tried as the “twisted sister,” which her ex-husband had accused her of being to Landry. Articles were on the front pages of newspapers coast to coast where they remain via the internet.

Even some of the jurors decided Elsa was guilty before the trial started. A deputy sheriff and a prospective juror both notified the judge of  illegal conversations between jurors, in which said jurors declared their firm belief in Elsa’s guilt. Although these incidents occurred before the trial began, the judge did not excuse the panel. At the conclusion of the trial, the jury foreman proudly boasted to Channel 9 news reporter Bruce LeShan that he knew Elsa was guilty from the start.

The jury never heard and apparently had no way of learning that the custodial parent, Elsa’s ex-husband sadistically abused her children,  but when their suffering mother privately expressed to her divorce lawyer’s secretary a wish the molester were dead, that was viciously and crudely exploited and distorted to stick Elsa with a crime. In regard to this crime, not only was Elsa innocent—but she and Margery Landry [and I, for that matter]—are all adamant that the crime never even existed; there…was…no…conspiracy.

Doug Gansler and Katherine Winfree are now the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General of the State of Maryland, respectively.

In 2002 they silenced Elsa’s children.

Now they have silenced Elsa.
